Sloppy Joe Sliders Recipe

Sloppy Joe Sliders are bold, sweet, and savory. Deliciously messy, sloppy joe meat piled onto slider rolls with lots of melted cheese, then baked to perfection!

Ingredients

  • 12 Slider Rolls *I use Rhode’s Warm and Serve Rolls
  • 2 cups cheese *shredded, cheddar

Sloppy Joe Mixture

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion *diced
  • 4 cloves garlic *minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • salt/pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup water

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup butter *melted
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard *Dijon, yellow, or jalapeno
  • Sesame seeds *optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and slice slider rolls in half horizontally.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add in the beef and onion, stirring until meat is cooked through.
  • Drain fat and add in the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, and water.
  • Allow meat mixture to simmer over low heat for about 5-6 minutes, or until mixture has thickened up.
  • Sprinkle half the cheese on the slider buns followed by scooping the meat mixture evenly on top of the cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of meat and place bun on top to create sandwich.
  • Prepare glaze by combining the melted butter with brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and sesame seeds (if using).
  • Brush glaze evenly on top of the sliders coating thoroughly.
  • Place pan (I always use a cookie sheet, but a 9 x 13 pan works too) into preheated oven and allow to bake for about 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately!
